Can't print wireless
Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this problem, but let's see :)
I just uninstalled and reinstalled my printer because it was showing an error every time I would try to print. So after I reinstalled I asked for the test page and it printed fine, but when I tried to print again I got the communication not available window. I tried all the suggestions and that didn't work. So I connected with the USB cable and it finally printed.
My question is does anyone know why it won't print wireless? I did just replace the ink cartridges. It printed the alignment page and said that it was successful. But it won't print anything else. Any help please? By the way-The dell imaging tool box didn't reinstall. Any ideas on that too?
The trouble shooting page is a joke so thanks for any help you can give me.

Mommasfedup,
Make and model of your computer and operating system is helpful. 32-bit or 64-bit? If Windows 7, was the computer upgraded or did the computer come with Windows 7?
Make and model of your printer and how you're trying to connect it to your computer, usb cable or does the printer have the wireless adapter?
Did the printer connect to your network before?
What virus program and firewall are you using?

Mommasfedup,
Start, control panel, system. There is will state if it's 32-bit or 64-bit.
What is the make and model of your wireless router and the type of security you're using. I recommend using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier. I would do this before trying to connect the printer. A model number of the printer would help.Do you have the printer disk? If yes, the model number of the printer should show on the disk.

The computer is an inspiron 1525. Not sure of operating system. Where do I find that?? It came with Windows 7. The printer is a dell all in one printer. I am trying to connect wirelessly. It was working fine before I replaced the ink . And I'm using McAfee security. Thanks for responding. :)

Thanks-The op. system is 32 bit. I'm sorry to sound dense, but I'm not really good with the computer yet. I have a Belkin G wireless router. On the Network window I saw ET00200031F54C-I don't know what that is. On Printer window I have DellV305 and DellV305 (copy1) both off line. Microsoft Doc. Image Writer and Microsoft XPS Doc Writer. Security is McAffee.

Mommasfedup,
The Belkin will not recognize the difference between WPA-PSK (TKIP) Security(Personal) You may have to use WEP Security.
Here is the setup, but the picture reflect WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal) You may have to change to WEP to get the printer connected because of the Belkin router.
Your setup should look like...
wall > Cable modem/router > wireless router > wired/wireless
Press and hold the little reset button in the back of the wireless router for 60 seconds. This will reset the wireless router back to factory.
Plug the ethernet cable in to a numbered port of the wireless router, then run ipconfig /all
Alternate method= Hit the Windows key and the R keys at the same time. Type
cmd
hit enter. Type
ipconfig /all (space between the g and / )
hit enter
Look for the default gateway. It should look something like 192.168.1.1 or similar.
Open Internet Explorer. In the address bar, put the numbers of the default gateway in the address bar and hit enter.
You should be asked for a username and password. Try...
Username = admin
Password = (blank) Do not put anything here and click enter or password.
but these can vary on the manufacturer. Please consult your wireless routers installation instructions for the correct information.
This is the basic username and password unless stated differently in the user manual. Please consult the user manual for the correct username and password. If you changed the username and password, then you'll need to use the correct one.
You should then see a setup screen.
Click on wireless, basic settings
Here I use Mixed mode, my network name is Virus_Farm and I use channel 11. Use the same settings except change the Network name to a new name, like Your_Network. (You cannot have any spaces)
Save settings.
Now click on Wireless security. you see...
Use WPA Personal
Enter your 13 character password when I have your13characterpassword, then click on save settings.
This will be the password needed to login to the Your_Network network.
Click on wireless mac filter and make sure it's disabled.
Save Settings and close Internet Explorer.
Power down the cable modem/router and the Linksys. Wait 60 seconds, the turn on the cable modem. Wait 15 seconds and turn on the Linksys.

I think that I just found something that's not right. When I get the communication not available window-at the top it says USB port. I'm not using the USB, I want wireless. I changed the status of the printer to ready before I got this window. Does this make a difference?

Mommasfedup,
After you have your network setup, you'll need to run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Start, control panel, programs and features, Dell V305w Printer, uninstall.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
With the computer online, insert the printer disk, choose new installation, then choose network and follow the instructions. It will prompt you to connect the printer, using the USB Cable. It will ask for your network and password, then follow the instructions.

Ok, I just uninstalled the DellV305 from the programs window. I checked the network page and there still is something called ET00200031F54C. On the printer window I still have the Microsoft Office Document Image writer and Microsoft XPS Document writer. Do I need to delete these too? And then try to reinstall?

Mommasfedup,
The Microsoft Office Document Image writer and Microsoft XPS Document writer are ok, keep them.
The ET00200031F54C is possibly the printer but leave it go for now. Just remove the V305 printer and it's drivers.
