can't see network files

I was away for 3 months and when I returned, my wireless network didn't fully work.  I can access the internet and share printers, but I cannot see shared files on my other (desktop) computer in "My Network Places" as I did before.  How can I reestablish this?

golfer81,

Are you absolutely 100% sure that there is no firewall blocking accessing on the desktop?  Have you tried unsharing the folders/drives, then rebooting and resharing the folders/drives?  Have you tried adding the shared folders/files using Add Network Place in Network Neigborhood?  Can you not see the other computer at all in Network Neighborhood, or do you get an access denied message?

First of all, you need to make sure the Workgroup is the same. Right click "MY Computer" and then select "Properties" Select Computer name and make sure the workgroup is the same.

You are right on target.  My firewall setting had somehow changed to block access to the network.  It's fixed now and works well.  THANKS
