Hi viveksan3,

It seems that the wireless and Bluetooth driver installed on system is for Windows 7. You may try to uninstall the driver and then reinstall Windows 8 compatible driver from the link: http://dell.to/10oXjGs

You may also check in ‘Windows Mobility Center’ for ‘Bluetooth radio switch’. Press ‘Windows’ key + X to access ‘windows Mobility Center’. Please ensure ‘Radio Switch’ is enabled.

Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any other questions.

thank you.

i installed the recent driver from dell website specifying my operating system windows8 64 bit, which is same as the driver you provided above.

in the Windows Mobility Cente i dont see any Bluetooth radio switch. .

as i told it earlier it had no compatability issues, had tray icons, processes, created a Bluetooth folder in My Documents.

i cant switch it  why ?

Hi viveksan3,

Thank you for replying.

The radio control option might not be showing due to the Quickset application not being installed. You may download and install the application from the link below:

http://dell.to/Z39Xj5

You may have to run the application in Windows 7 compatibility mode. You may follow the steps below:

Use the 'setup' file to install drivers in ‘Compatibility mode’. The steps are:

  • Navigate to C:\dell\Drivers\ R302489\Win64
  • Right click ‘Setup’ file and click ‘Properties’
  • Click ‘Install in compatibility mode’
  • Click Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’
  • Next, click ‘Troubleshoot Program’
  • Click ‘Program worked in earlier versions of Windows’
  • Click ‘Windows 7’
  • Click ‘Start the Program’
  • Do not hit ‘Next’ until the installation completes
  • Once the installation completes, click on ‘Next’

After installing the Quickset, a new section should appear in the Windows Mobility Center, which would say ‘Customized by Dell’ and would have the option to manage radio controls.

I would also request you to share a screenshot of the Device Manager so that I may see if all the drivers are installed properly.

Hope this helps. Please reply with the findings. I would be glad to assist further.

thank you, i installed dell Quickset application and i attached the screen shot.

previously i once again called dell customer care and asked for my Bluetooth problem.

He told that my laptop is not shipped with the Bluetooth card and i cant use Bluetooth services.

after all my struggles he simply said that, Now i have a question can i install that dell Bluetooth card with your customer support client. is it possible and how much it costs?

Not shipped?? but why it is written in the specifications?

Another question, I havn't registered in the dell support site, as i dont know. But now i'm unable to, purchased nearly 6 mnths.

they said that it has complete warranty at buy.

But when i call dell, they are simply saying call before 6pm. what the hell ??

i'm just a new user, havn't completed a year of my warranty, where is the support ?

Hello, everybody!!

The same problem happened with me when i installed a bluetooth driver update.

what i did was:
1. opened device manager
i.e.
  windows button + R.
Wrote  devmgmt.msc    and hit enter

2. then enabled the bluetooth .

3. See the pic below if you still didn't get!!

I am having the same problem. I had wifi-connectivity issues which were resolved by replacing the actual card. Since then I haven't been able to use my Bluetooth, which before had been working perfectly.

I followed your advice Sardar Muhammad Usama, and installed updated drivers. Now I am able to switch Bluetooth On/Off but when I try to use it, I still get the same message.

The adapter shows it is turned on, and the device is picking up Bluetooth devices nearby, but it won't connect. What can I do?
