Can't Update WLAN 1390 Driver

Question

Hello, I have been have issues with disconnecting with World of Warcraft. Going through troubleshooting, the only thing I have not done is updated my wireless card driver. I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Dell's website. However, when I check the driver info under Hardware it still shows the old driver: Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini Card Driver: Broadcom Driver Date: 10/12/2006 Driver Version:4.100.15.5 Am I looking looking in the right place? I am also using a Linksys WRT54G which may be the issue. When I do a tracert the first ping has been over 2000ms when I'm logged into WoW. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thank you for the advice. I have tried what you suggested, but when I boot back up it automatically detects the WLAN 1390 and doesn't give me any options to cancel it. I check the drvier again and it's still listing the 2006 driver. I have even gone in and deleted the driver from the system32 folder, doesn't work. I am very confused, thanks.

In order to install a newer driver, you may have to go into Device Manager, uninstall the wireless adapter, reboot, cancel the New Hardware Wizard, if it starts, then run the file containing the new drivers to intall the new drivers.   Steve

Tried uninstalling, restarting and installing in safe mode and it is still showing the old driver version. Not sure what is going on it's not recognizing the updated driver at all. If it helps any the software version is showing at 4.100.15.8 Mar 14, 2007 and driver version is 4.100.15.5 Oct 12, 2006. Thanks again for the help.

Which file are you downloading?  Is it R151519.EXE?  Have you tried installing it in Safe Mode?   Steve

Correct R151519.exe, I have not tried to install in safe mode, but will.
