Certain websites VERY slow?

im having that exact same problem,..been trying to trouble shoot for a week, no luck....webpages lock up & dont respond, internet choppy, nothing streams in evenly....im with rogers internet, who are you with?....let me know if you figure it out! Cheers, Chillz

It's probably just the internet or the slow sites.  Even tho you can access them with another machine and they load OK, you have to remember the other machine may not take the exact same path through the internet and when it hits the server, the port it hits it on may not be "busy". 

 

I get slow loading sites occasionally and just chalk it up to the site or the web links.

 

One other thing to consider is the speed your ISP link is.  Just because you may have a link from your ISP that is, for example 2GB, that is ONLY from the ISP down to you.  Once it gets to the ISP and into the web it can wind up going through many paths and one of the current paths may be overloaded and slow.   In most cases your uplink speed is no where near the downlink speed.  e.g. I have RoadRunner cable and my uplink speed runs around 400 Kb/sec but my downlink speed (on a speed test) usually is around 5 MB/sec.  Too many variables.

Bandwidth in and out of those sites is your culprit, not your connection.

I have xps 410 2g ram 2.13 dou processor os vista 32 bit . My internet provider is Verizon dsl 768kbps. I am have problem with nascar.com. it take 20 to 25 sec to come up and  also any link on the page.I talk with dell and verizon and found out that the issue is is that sever iatencies and pingingwebsite it timesout .When they do a test in cmd  there ms between servers are huge

and timeout after 6. From my understanding it it should go to about 15 and shold not time out

when pinging. Any suggetions.
