Chronically slow wireless startup?????

Hello all.

I have a Vostro 1400, with all drivers up to date and it is running as normal. The only problem I am having is that after boot up and reaching windows, it can take up to 5 minutes and sometimes more for the wireless to get going, I have tried roll back to previous drivers and have reduced the number of tasks at startup with no change.

It used to fire up as soon as windows did. In the house Im in we use to have a very cheap and nasty wireless router, which couldnt support more the one machine at a time. It was when I tried to connect to this that the problem began. ( we now have much more superior router supporting 5-6 machines at a time) My desktop also has wireless and picks up a signal instantaneously???

Has anyone experienced something similar, or have any advice. Im far from computer iliterate, but this has got me baffled
