Computer Help 2nd try Firewall
I cam across this while surfing this popped up?
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Comload.html
It said for me to go to dos prompt and type this in
it told me to enter: “cd "%WinDir%\System”
and then enter: “regsvr32 /u comload.dll”
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
C:\Documents and Settings\Bill Smythe>cd "%WinDir%\System
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM>regsvr32 /u comload.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM>
After I typed it in I got this
( RegSvr32 ) in the left hand corner
What do I do? For now I closed it. This looks like a hoax of some kind?
Do I need to install their software or should I get it from a computer store?
Is this spy ware and or is their a way to check and or install firewall software?
Someone said I need a firewall from a third party, I do have windows XP home Edition, ver 2002, serv pk 1
I have norton as a virus scan software.
should I check with Microsoft to see if this is a hoax?

Why don't you just download, install, update, and run Spybot Search and Destroy, as recommended by the doxdex web site? You can download Spybot at:

I'd never do anything that comes up in a popup or email. There are plenty of sources to verify if you really have a problem.
I'd suggest spybot and adaware. Not one, but both. They do find different things and it seems what one doesn't find the other will.
