conexant modem drivers for linux, anyone??

up to this moment dell doesn´t offer linux modem drivers in its support page (actually it offers almost no linux drivers at all).

i´ve been searching the web looking for a driver for my conexant v92 56k PCI modem, but haven´t been able to find any, except for one at linuxant.com (for which they charge ~$20). during a recent RH linux v9 installation the OS was able to recognize all the hardware but the modem.

have anyone been able to install this modem on linux, a driver or any info on this behalf will be very much appreciated.

Linuxant provided proprietary drivers for those modems in the past. They were not free software, but you could download them free of charge.

Recently, Linuxant changed this. Now, you only get a crippled version for free, if you want the real drivers, you have to pay.

You can download the last free-of-charge versions here.
