All you can do is to be sure you have the latest firmware update from Linksys. The router really should not slow down a wired connection. Just curious, what makes you think the router is slowing you down?
step 1 :- connect the computer directly to the cable modem.connect to internet and go this website
www.pcpitstop.com .on the left hand side you find internet speed.click on that. then click on download speed
click on run bandwidth test. it will show you the speed of the internet ( download bandwidth results only dont try upload speed test right now ) you will get the results in Kbps
now connect through the router and try the same test again.if there is a noticeable difference only then you need to worry.
