All you can do is to be sure you have the latest firmware update from Linksys. The router really should not slow down a wired connection. Just curious, what makes you think the router is slowing you down?

That's interesting. Does anybody else find this to be the case to any noticeable extent?  I just tried it and I don't see a download speed difference.

Well, when I connect my computer directly to the modem the internet is a little faster, and when its in the router its a little slower.

You want to speed up the internal speed or external speed? How many wireless devices on the LAN?

step 1 :- connect the computer directly to the cable modem.connect to internet and go this website

www.pcpitstop.com .on the left hand side you find internet speed.click on that. then click on download speed

click on run bandwidth test. it will show you the speed of the internet ( download bandwidth results only dont try upload speed test right now ) you will get the results in Kbps

now connect through the router and try the same test again.if there is a noticeable difference only then you need to worry.

for all reasons that we know  there might not be significant difference at all but in case if any mail me at techsupport4free@gmail.com
