I just received a Dimension E520. I connected it to internet, and the Local Area Connection show that it is connected, but there is very very limited internet, no page can be open. I have an older computer at home, and it work fine. Any idea what happen to my new dell?

btw, I deleted the norton, and firewall is disabled. I shared cable with my neighbor, so I connect through his router.

and these are result when i do ipconfig /all

Wireless or wired?  DNS is wrong.  With an ipconfig /all you shoudl get the actual IP Addresses of your DNS servers from the ISP and not those of the router.

Your router should be set to receive DHCP from your provider.  From that information, it appears you entered the information as static.

It is wired.

I shared internet with someone else, I connected Ethernet cable to his router. When I got my new dell, I just unplugged the Ethernet cable from the computer that work(I only need my new pc to access to internet), and plug it to my new pc.

I have no idea about that 91 to 3 either

BTW, the "local area connection" in old pc become "local area connection 3" in the new one

How are you connected to the router that is connected to the modem?  This almost looks like you have a router in place also.  Curious as to why the IP Address is jumping around like that from .91 to .3 in the fourth octet?????

Wired or wireless connection?

If it has a number in the suffix, then you have done some "tinkering".  Try powering down the enitre netwrok, then power up the modem, router, and pc in that order waiting a few(3) minutes in between each.

suffix of what?

I turned them off for 5 minutes, and it is still now working?

Could you explain what might cause that it work on 1 pc, but not another one?
(I don't think it is software problem, cause I actually just formatted it and reinstall all the drivers)

thanks for all the replies.

The suffix of 192.168.1.3 vs 192.168.1.91

The only thing that can be blocking the connection is MAC filtering or a third party firewall.

The ip address seems to be random, there are 3 pcs in the network, but none of them are in any order.

I kinda give up.

Can I use usb to connect my 2 PCs, and let the working pc act as server??

Google for a program called WinSockFix for XP and run that.
