Connected But No Internet

i have dell xps L502X and currently trying to access internet via proxy server. 
My wifi connects to the internet succesfully and it doesn't even show any exclamation mark, but it doesnt open up any site. though when i open settings and change it to detect settings automatically, sometimes some sites open up. Dont know why it doesnt work with proxy settings.
