Connected but unable to access Internet

I am trying to access the internet via my universities wireless system.  I can get connected, and have an excellent connection, but when I try to open internet explorer the internet pages will not load.

I have an inspiron 6400 laptop and I have an Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG managing my network connection.

PLEASE HELP!!!  Thanks

Have you been able to connect at this location before?  Have you tried moving to another location at the same university.  Can other people connect right now at the same location?   I have had this problem many times at the university where I work, and most of the time it is due to a faulty router at the location.  Moving to a different location where I can access a different router gets me connected until the tech services people reset the router at the other location.

I am experiencing the same problem with my home wireless network and my 9400.  Intel Proset/Wireless says that I am connected to my wireless router but I cannot connect with Internet Explorer to any page.  It says I have an excellent connection.  AOL also will not connect using the broadband connection.  My modem is the Direcway DW7000 and my wireless router is a US Robotics 5461.  My 5100 works flawlessly with the same setup so I am led to assume it is something with the 9400.  I'm searching the post for answers also but have not yet found anything helpful.
