connecting to the internet wireless

I just recently purchased a  Dell Inspiron E1505 notebook and I am trying to go online wireless.  I have linked to our service  here at work and the status says connected however, I cannot pull up the Internet.  please help,any suggestions.

Check that your firewall is allowing the connection to the internet.  Both the firewall protecting your network at work and the firewall on the notebook.  Your IT technician should be able to help you.
