connecting two wireless routers

I have two netgear mr814 routers in my house.  My Dell Inspiron  connects to the first one even when it is closer to the second one.  I have to move the notebook very far away from the first one before it will connect to the second.  Both routers are properly set up and will connect to the internet.  Netgear's other side of the world technical support is not much help.  They just say the notebook will connect to the router with the strongest signal but I know the second router, when I am sitting next to it will give out a stronger signal.  I know this is not a Dell problem but I thought someone might have an answer.  Oh if you can't understand broken English, dont but Netgear products.

Setup the second one as an access point.  Doubt that you can have two gateways oging out on the same line.

Chnage the function froma gateway to a router, give it a static IP Address, and connect any wires (if any) to the swicth side of the device.

In general, a wireless card will maintain an existing signal as long as it can to avoid breaking an existing connection...this is intended behavior.

Your comment about not buying due to broken eglish is irrelevant - if you dont need support, there's no reason not to.
