Connection status: Unknown, The dependency service or group failed to start.
I've got an Inspiron 1420, Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card and I've got this issue with connection status being unknown because the dependency service or group failed to start. I've read through all the other threads I've found about this, tried some of the solutions given there and nothing has worked. I've had this problem for several years now and I still haven't found the problem. I've downloaded new drivers, reset all kinds of stuff... I'd really appreciate some assistance.
Thanks in advance,
Mitch

cocoamonkey,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Go to start - run and type in MSCONFIG. Enable all services, apply setting and restart the computer.
You can also try the steps below.
1. Click Start and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. Collapse this imageExpand this image If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue
3. At the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:
sfc /scannow

I tried the first suggestion. All the things were already enabled so I figured that wasn't the problem. Tried the scan thing, bluescreened... I'll try again but if it bluescreens again I'll have to deal with it until I get my new Alienware...
Edit:
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but w
as unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
I tried opening this file, even using the command prompt as an administrator, access is denied. How am I supposed to see the details if it denies access to the administrator?
