If you do a Google on Newdot~, you will find out that it is Spyware and it appears from the information I saw that it may have modified your TCP/IP hosts file and that may have lead to your network problem.

Of course, possibly someone removed the Spyware from your system but not the thing that tries to launch it.

If you truly have a network problem, you need to describe the network you are connecting to. This could be nothing more than someone unplugged the broadband router or modem. Who set your home network up? If you are not able to reach the DHCP function in the broadband router you may end up with an incompatible IP address.

A starting point is to go to a DOS Command Prompt window and do a IPCONFIG /all.

Good Luck.
