Converting standard cable connection to wireless
I haven't even received my notebook yet. In order for me to make my notebook wireless am I going to need to make my home computer wireless also or can I keep it as a standard connection for when I use it at home?
Thanks for any help.

This is basically the same reply as I posted "here", but... anyway...
You'll need to purchase a "Wireless Router" or "Wireless Access Point", which will allow both of your computers to be online at the same time... and share files, if so desired.
A "Wireless Router" will allow both wireless and wired (RJ-45 Ethernet plug) connections. If your Notebook doesn't have an internal Wireless Card... a Wireless combo package similar to "this combo" is needed. If you already have a wireless solution, then only the wireless Router ("click here") is needed.
There are many other models of wireless Routers & cards, also from different manufacturers, that you can choose from ("click here"). The D-link example is just one solution... but in my opinion, a good one. Both are highly rated sites, have various wireless Networking hardware and user reviews that can help in choosing your wireless solution.
With a "Wireless Access Point" ("click here")... you'll need wireless hardware solutions for both computers. The only RJ-45 receptacle a "Wireless Access Point" has, is for the "Cable Modem".
Aloha,
