D Link issues

Any one else having issues with D link products. I have heard they are highly rated. I have a DWL G630 and a DI 524. My laptop crashes at least 2 times a day or more and my hard wired pcs get get disconnected routinely. Is there something i can do on my end to address this? I have checked my cables, they are fine when i am just hooked up to my modem. All the ethernet ports give me the smae problem. I just want to make sure i have done everything on my end. Thanks.

My daughter is using a DI-524 to a Verizon DSL modem with no issues.  Please describe better what you mean by crash.  And do I correctly understand you that wired also stops?  If so, look for the problem between the router and the modem.  Make sure you are using the latest firmware for the DI-524 and the latest driver for the G630.

tthe laptop gets a blue screen error ar5211.sys, something about trying to write to a read, memory dump, ircq less than but not equal....when wired individually to the modem neither pc has had one problem. the error from the router states a network cable has been unplugged, then it reconnects, this happens a regualr basis lets say once an hour and only lasts about 10 seconds then reconnects.i have tried all 4 ports on the router and it happens on all of them.

the router is brand new out of the box, i have installed latest firmware from dlink site.

my modem is a motorola surfboard 5100.

just got off the phone with dlink support, it appears the this router is bad, not all of them of course just mine, so they told me to return it. glad this happened before it was too late to return it. they spoke english too. but the ar5211.sys is a driver error with the card, ill keep you posted on that one.

Yeah, I just googled ar5211.sys and found it is the wireless card's driver (atheros chipset driver).  Getting a working router should make thisgs work better.

the plot thickens. the card contunues to cause crashes and dlink will not honor their warranty because i do not have my reciept. I would warn you all not to lose receipts. even though i have been contacting their customer support for over 5 months they dont want to replace this defective card. Anyone know of any watchdog or consumer advocacy groups who could help me get a replacement? thanks for any help.

Have you tried a different driver?  How about uninstalling the present driver and loading the latest again, even if it is the same driver?  You may also need to do it from Window's Safe Mode in the Device Manager.  I really think you have a software problem, not a bad card.

i think you are right too. I stopped using the card and got the error without the drivers mentioned on the Blue screen of Death. Id tried some fixes on microsofts sight and it didnt help. I am under warranty and will call dell soon.
