D600 extremely slow after installing Office XP
Every new D600 and X300 were are getting in are having the same issues. They work fine until we load Office XP or Office 2003. We have tried loading Office from the network and from cd and it makes no difference. If you click on the control panel icon or My network Places, it take nearly 4 minutes to load. If you disable the Intel wireless 2100 card the machine starts working fine again. We have updated the wireless card with the newest drivers and still nothing. Any thoughts??
Thanks,
Patrick

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
The cause of this may be from the Office program. Go to the Windows update site to make sure that you have all drivers and patches for the computer. You may also wish to update the network drivers on your system and firmware on the wireless router.

I found a something that fixed this on my end. I don't know how the Office install could have changed this, but I found this artical listed elsewhere in this forum and it cleared up the issue.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q299357
which describes this command
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Basically it resets the IP stack to default. IE now launches immediately and so does the control panel. Let me know if it works for you.
