D600 will not recognize rj45 network adapter

I have been using a d600 wirelessly with no flaws whatsoever, but now I need to connect through a wired network. This system does not even recongnize the ethernet adapter. I have downloaded the driver for the broadcom adapter and the chipset drivers as well, but had no effect. When I enter setup during the boot process and locate the modem and LAN card options they are both enabled. What else can I do?

I was having a similar (actually identical) problem this evening while trying to setup my router. I found that the internal nic is set to disable on battery power. Don't know if this is also your problem but it definitely solved mine. I ended up disabling the option in device manager and that got it going. Good luck.
