Default Gateway and IP address are the same (please help)

Okay, I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right board, but i'll try anyway.

I have a Dell Dimension 4600C and I'm using the Westell 327W router/DSL.

Here's the problem: My default gateway and IP address are the same, I can't access the westell 327W's setup page to turn it's WiFi setting on.

What do I do?

Am I able to change my default gateway?

Are you saying that the default gateway is the same as the IP address on your network card or the same as the IP address of the router?  The IP address of your router and the gateway address should be the same, as the router is serving as a gateway for your computer.  If the IP address that your network card is getting is the same as the gateway address, then you have a problem. Please be more clear about what you mean here. 
 
 Are you trying to access the router by a wireless connection?  If so, you should try connecting by a wired ethernet in order to configure or troubleshoot the wireless part of the network.

Nevermind now, I updated my network card's driver and restarted my computer. I did the cmd>>>ipconfig method in DOS and my network card was now showing an IP address and default gateway (both different). I guess you learn something new everyday because I didn't know that the router's IP address and default gateway were suppose to be the same.

Thanks anyway, if I have any problems later, I'll post them in this thread.
