dell d8300 ethernet conroller windows server 2003

Question

Hi, I have installed windows server 2003 on the dell dimension d8300  but the ethernet controller and SM bus controller has no driver. Can anyone point me to  driver(s) that will work with this OS? The driver on the downloads site will not install as it says it is not usable on this operating system.     Kind Regards Sue

You need to install the chipet drivers for your motherboard before even attempting to install other device drivers.  Since this machine was never sold by Dell with Windows Server 2003, you will not be able to get the drivers from Dell.  It has the Intel 875P chipset, and the drivers should be available at the Intel web site.  The network adapter is likely a Broadcom 5700 Gigabit adapter, the drivers for which should be available on the Broadcom web site.   Steve
