When you installed the operating system, did you install the notebook system utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Scratch that, everything is installed, but it's saying I'm still missing an Ethernet controller supposley. I think this is probably the reason why I can't use the wireless connections at all.
It's a wireless connection and I've tried to update it. IT asks for a disc that I do not have because I got the computer from a goodwill. I'll test the modems to see if they have any effect, I tried what you said, but it's still not being able to search for a wireless connection.

Erijian,
Dimension 1100/B110
Desktop System Utility
Install the Desktop system utility, then the chipset drivers and follow the list. Things should start working.

It was unable to install it because it's not meant to be used on the computer. (Dimension 1100/B110). Any other suggestions?

I installed the chipset driver, but I couldn't find a notebook system utility driver for it, so I assumed there isn't one.

Erijian,
Yes, that is correct.
Desktop system utility
chipset
are the important ones. The computer doesn't know what's installed without these.
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card
Order not as important.

If certain things such as the PCMCIA/Smartcard controller are not listed under my computer type, should I just skip it?

Erijian,
You have wired, correct?
Intel (R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection
Dell Wireless 1450 (802.11a/b/g) USB2.0 Adapter
If you need the modems, they're listed under communication.
Did you try right clicking on the adapter in the device manager, update driver?

If you need to know, the computer has a built-in D-Link AirPlus ExtremeG built into it. I just need to get that to have a connection output.

Erijian,
Was the D-Link AirPlus ExtremeG added by you or another person? Need to find disk to install or drivers. Try D-Links Website?
