Thanks for coming back to me. I'm afraid I don't know what you are referring to in respect of the security and channel for my router - could you tell me where I can find it please? I have looked at the properties on the router, but the only info there is the model number of the router (2.02.38) and the MAC/IP address and unique identifier info.
I have enabled Windows Firewall in the security center as Norton is off and Malware protection is also off.I have worked through all of your connection checks and my connection is enabled and no errors with the network, only the message I psoted before regarding the 6to4 network adapter, code 31.
The system info log I hope you are referring to is as follows

Update the driver
You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.
In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.

ald47,
Places to look to see if your Connection is enabled
What type of security and channel are you using in the BskyB DG934G router?
Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

ALD47,
I am only seeig a Nvidia nForce Networking Controller. If you have a wireless adaper installed it's not showing.
Try reading...
Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or from certain non-Microsoft DHCP servers
How to repair a connection
Start, control panel, networking and sharing center, click on your connection, properties. Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and look at properties for both. Have your settings match mine
Try this tweak...
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power. Do this for the NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller

Update the driver
You
may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the
driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the
last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open
the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked
for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the
latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.
In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.
