DELL N5050 Atheros WLAN driver problem
Hi, i bought a n5050 with ubuntu preinstalled so i installed windows7 but i cant find the wlan driver.
The card is Atheros AR9485 but i cant find it anywhere in dell's driver list or anywhere else. I used google, found some links but everything i downloaded didnt work. I even found a post to a forum saying that this card is faulty and that guy bought another model from ebay to have it solved.
Anyone got any idea?

orangeteg,
Did you install the drivers in the correct order? Chipset drivers first? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
The Antheros AR9485 is probably a Dell Wireles adapter.
Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER and post the information back here. The network adapters should be listed.

orangeteg,
In device manager, click on the problem device, select the hardware ID from the drop down menu. Post the number back here.
You installed in this excat order...
Intel HM57 Express Chipset Family, HM67 Express Chipset Family, v.9.2.0.1019, A00
Intel Management Engine Interface, v.7.0.0.1144, A00
Realtek RTS5138 Card Reader, v.6.1.7600.30126, A00
Then go to Dell Warranty Status enter your service tag, click on original configuration. There it will be listed for the wireless adapter installed.
Then download and install Dell QuickSet, v.10.09.25, A00
Places to look to see if your Connection is enabled

Hardware ids:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_02091028&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_02091028
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&CC_0280
I havent installed any drivers my self, all was done by windows update after. The only unknown drivers were the Chipset and the WLAN. I manually installed the chipset but i cant find the drivers for the wlan.
The drivers are not there, it has nothing to do with connection enabled issue.
I installed the dell quickset
On the original configuration i see:
100
GRAPHICS : INTEL HD GRAPHICS
100
WIRELESS : EUROPE DELL WIRELESS 1702 802
I went to dell n5050 drivers list, ive downloaded 3 different packages that include 1702 wireless but none of them worked.
Dell Wireless 1702 802.11 b/g/n, BT3.0+HS v9.2.412, A02 --> This one installs all the way to the end but when it tried to connect with windows update to locate driver it fails
Dell Wireless 1702 802.11 b/g/n, BT3.0+HS v9.2.0.255, A01 --> This one gives me error "Wireless adapter not found, the device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the system"
Any other explanations? I am sure it has to do with windows7 issue because the laptop was preinstalled with ubuntu and the wireless was fine, i used it 1 day only since i got it out of the box and then decided to go with windows
