Dell Optiplex GX100 modem issues
SERVICE TAG:8DRK701
I had to reinstall the operating system and log bck on to my cable external madem and will not recognize the modem. There is data passing through but will not recognize the service. Do I need a setting repired or does the internal madem need re-installed. The resource cd does not have the driver I need to recognize whtever modem is inside?

You need 2 Drivers. The chipset and the Modem.

One more question. Under Device manager the only item left with a yellow (?) is titled PCI Ethernet Controller???? Is there a driver for that to use. Is this causing my issue with the cable modem?
Thanks

AOL has said previously that complaints about interference by its software were overblown. But some AOL customers and competitors contend the product also damages computer programs unrelated to Internet service.
The suit, alleging a deceptive trade practice and violation of computer-tampering laws, seeks damages of up to $1,000 for each of the approximately 8 million people who have downloaded the software.
The civil action was filed earlier this week in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Virginia, near AOL's corporate headquarters. It follows scores of complaints lodged by customers of the online service about problems they encountered after installing version 5.0.
