Hi washburntroy,

You may uninstall and reinstall the wireless drivers. You may follow the steps below:

  • Press ‘Windows’ key + R on ‘Desktop’ screen
  • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’
  • Click > sign next to ‘Network Adapters’
  • Right click on wireless card and click ‘Uninstall’

You may reinstall the drivers from the link: http://dell.to/11MS0qk.

My dad's laptop is a dell latitude d820 windows xp and i can't figure out why it won't connect but i think it's the same reason why mine didn't connect and i can't tell if the wireless is a 1394 net adapter or if it is intel(r) pro/wireless 3945abg. i was just wondering if they had a reinstall for this wireless connection

Hi washburntroy,

You may uninstall and reinstall the wireless drivers on Latitude D820 as well. Please share the device ID for network controller. You may follow the steps below:

  • In ‘Device Manager’, right click ‘Network Controller’.
  • Click ‘Properties’.
  • Click ‘Details’.
  • Search for ‘Device Instance ID’.
  • Provide the numbers after VEN and DEV.

Please paste a screenshot of device manager with ‘Network Adapters’ expended, if possible.

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist further.
