Dell wireless 3300 printer adapter problems.
I have a wireless network in my home, and have used the 3300 with it on and off. Now, I need to use it all the time, but I can not get it to work properly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have updated the firmware on my router, and updated the drivers and firmware on the 3300. This equipment has worked flawlessly before, but it will not now. When I reinstall everything from scratch, it all works fine. The problem comes when I shut down my laptop. When I restart, it will not comunicate with the printer through the wireless. I then uninstall everything, and reinstall, and it works again, until I shut down and restart. Then it's the same problem all over again. It's driving me nuts.
D-link DI-624 wireless router, Dell wireless 3300 adapter, Dell Latitude D620 laptop. Dell AIO 964 printer.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bill

I recommend these settings for your wireless router.
Update the firmware in the wireless router. Make and model needed, manufacturers website.
Broadcast SSID(Change this, it will make it easier to connect.)
Use WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security. Most wireless devices work best with this type of security.
mixed b and g mode(n if available)
Use channels 1, 6 or 11. Most wireless devices work best on these channels.
Save and exit. Power everything off for 30 seconds. Turn everything back on. Try to connect.
Now attach the 3300 to your computer using the setup disk. It will ask you for SSID, type of security and password. Basically follow the instructions.
Now, let's make sure the printer gets installed correctly. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.
Restart your computer.
Download the proper drivers from here.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit drivers
Install the drivers, choose network, choose using a wireless print server and folow the instructions.
Scanning
Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.
Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.
Also there is a firmware update for the 964, recommended

bicyclebill1,
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting the 3300 and the 964 to communicate. I have had mine since 2003 qnd not had any problems after I set mine up this way.
mikem2009,
What do you mean, it's working now??? Were you having trouble with your 964 and 3300, also?

It's got to be some little something, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. This worked at one time too.
