Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module: Problem with Windows 7 32-bit
Dear Dell-Users
I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 notebook with a Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module. Until last week I used Windows XP. With the driver from Dell (Toshiba Bluetooth Stack) my Bluetooth worked perfectly.
But now I upgraded to Windows 7 and I have huge problems with Bluetooth.
First of all I tried this driver official from Dell homepage, made for Windows Vista 32-bit:
This driver is named "Vista Profile Pack". After istalling it, I am able to open the Windows Bluetooth Manager. I can search my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and connect them to my computer. But the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar is coming and going all half minutes. The Bluetooth adapter seems to switch off and on all half minutes. It is not possible to have a good conecction. The connection is for some seconds ok, then there is no connection etc.
So I removed Vista Profile Pack. I downloaded Toshiba Bluetooth Stack directly from Toshiba: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download
I heard, that the 350 Dell module has been made by Toshiba. So this could be the correct driver. After installing the Bluetooth stack, I was able to connect my mouse and my keyboard. But this time the connection was good. The devices did not loose the connection to my computer. So i thought this is a fine solution. But after rebooting my computer, the mouse and the keyboard did not work. They are shown in the Bluetooth stack as known, but not as connected. So I had to connect them another time for made them working.
So i thought this is also not a good solution.
I made format c: and installed Windows 7 absolutely new. But this time, I installed absolutely NO driver for Bluetooth. In my device manager, the Bluetooth adapter is shown as not installed device. BUT: mouse and keyboard have a nice connection and are working good. I did not have to connect them to my computer, I did not have to enter a key on my keyboard known as usual. There is no Bluetooth icon in my taskbar. No bluetooth manager is working. But mouse and keyboard are working very well.
I ask myself how this is possible. And I am aksing myself wheter this is a safe connection. I would rather prefer to connect my Bluetooth devices with the official Windows Bluetooth manager. But the available drivers from Dell and Toshiba both seem to be as not the good ones because they make my adapter not working correctly.
Are there any experiences about that topic?
Thank you
