Detect Service Tag?

I work for a school board and we have web-based forms for teachers to fill out when there are issues with computers.  At this time, they must input computer information manually (ie. service tag, etc.).  I am wondering if anyone knows of any web-based ActiveX plugin or some way to detect this information and fill it into the form automatically.
