DHCP - Access is denied
I just got an Inspiron 1150 and right out of the box the system will not accept DHCP setup info from a Linksys router using the built in wireless card. The ip address for the wireless card is coming up 0.0.0.0. If I try running a ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew. . .I get Access is denied on the wireless card. On the linksys router I can clearly see the the client listed with its IP address in the DHCP server section of the router application. If I hard-code a IP address into the laptop network configuration the wireless card works great. But why won't it accept a DHCP address from the router? Other wireless computers have no problem connecting to this router.
BTW, plugging the laptop into the router using ethernet works just fine.
Things I have tried to resolve this. . .I have turned the card off in the system BIOS and then uninstalled the driver and turned the card back on in the BIOS and let the system reinstall the driver. I am not sure what else to try that will resolve this. It looks like a permissions issue on a registry key controlling the wireless card network info. But where? Very wierd problem to have on a new computer.
Any ideas?
