DHCP actions use 100% CPU

Question

Ive been having on on going issue with DHCP requests. Since I got my laptop (Lat D500) it would lock up for 3 mins or so when ever I preformed a DHCP release or Renew. I try updating my chipset drivers, my nic drivers... everything. Today i decided to look look at the performance meter thats built into windows and i saw that when ever a DHCP action is taken my CPU usage goes up to 100% and stays that way for minutes. This would explain why the laptop does nothing when i try to get a new address.   Has anyone else ever had this problem?   I'm running windows2k SP4 and my network adapter is an Intel Pro/100 VE.

Oh and i have the same problem when I'm using my wireless network card also, So I would think its not my network cards or drivers, possibly something with windows2k?
