Hi,

I have a simular problem and if I look at other enties on this forum there seems to be a problem with the Broadcom 57xx integrated nic in the GX620 and GX520's. In my case I don't get an IP address. Well I do get one but then the nic looks like it resets (lights go totally off and then on again) and WindowsXP Pro says cable has been disconnected. This whole procedure of getting an IP and resetting takes place after a certain period of time and keeps repeating itself. It only seems to be a problem when the NIC's are directly connected to a Cisco 3560 switch in our environment. When I connect the same PC to a 3Com switch everything works like a charm. So it looks like there is a hardware incompatibility problem between the Broadcom 57xx nics and certain switches.

I'm open for any suggestions. By the way it's not OS related because the same problem occurs booting the PC with DOS or Win98 Dos prompt and loading lan manager drivers which work fine on any other type of Broadcom 57xx connected to the same switches. I haven't checked specific firmware versions of the nic's yet. Is the last step (not that I can resolve anything with that knowledge). The Broadcom site doesn't report any simular problems, nor does Cisco...
