Do you have your dial up network connection listed in the Internet Explorer options? 

In Internet Explorer, click on Tools then Internet Options.  Click on the Connections tab.  The Dialup and connections block should list your Bellsouth connection.  If not, there is an option to add it. 

Does your e-mail work? 

BTW, this question really belongs in the operating system section of the forum as I.E. is part of the operating system.  It's not a "modem" issue - this forum section.
