Difficult to connect to an existing wireless network

HI,

Please, may i ask how i can connect to an existing wireless network. I'm having trouble with a new Dell Inspiron N5030. I am thinking the problem might be because of the Microsoft Internal network adapter. While, the computers on the network are Mac?!?! Would this affect?

I've gone to the Network and sharing centre and tried trouble shooting. No luck

Please help! Many Thanks.

Is your wireless router seen in the list of available networks?

If it is then do you have wireless encryption enabled on your router?

Hello,

Thank you fro your answer.

No i cannot see the list of available networks.

The wireless is at my other half's home, which i'm trying to connect to.

It may be some error with the internal wi/fi adapter in my computer??!?!

Thank you.

Have you checked to see if the wireless network your trying to connect to has its SSID hidden?  If it is, you need to type in the name of the wireless network in the Network & Sharing center in WIndows to access it.
