Dim. 8300 W2K: Intel 10/100 LOM driver cannot be installed

Hello, I just installed Windows 2000 on my machine (year-old Dimension 8300), downgrading for performance reasons from Windows XP Home. Anyway, it seems to work except that the integrated NIC (Intel 10/100 LOM) shows up as an 'Unknown Device' in Device Manager and the Dell driver is only for Windows XP. I downloaded another driver from Dell which claimed to work for Windows 2000 -- but it simply says that the driver .inf file does not match the hardware, and so I'm stuck. Any help appreciated, --E.

Try downloading the Windows 2000 compatible drivers from the Intel web site. Steve
