Dimension 2400 and Sitecom WL025+UB11b dongle problems
The problem is the following:
A friend of mine bought for his Dimension 2400 a Sitecom WL025 router with 2 MSI UB11b dongles (as a set). Installed the software, connected the router and and one of the dongles as advertised by the manual. No new harware was found by XPpro, rebooted the system, still no new hardware was found. Changed the dongle...still nothing... Checked the BIOS for the correct USB settings but nothing was disabled concerning the USB ports. Rebooted the system again, removed and re-installed the software and hardware....again no succes...Router could be accessed by "normal" UTP cat5 cable...checked the router setup....still no connection...as a last resort connected the whole bundle on my own Inspiron 1100 and gues what...everything worked flawless!!!...I'm really puzzled now....so please....some one....HELP!!!!!

Just as the manual stated, I loaded the software first before I connected the USB device...still nothing happened...

One other thought - does he have SP1 for XP loaded - no working USB support without it.

Hmmm....could be that that is (part?) of the problem...I'll try to install SP1 to see if that solves the prob...if not I'll get back to you guys...
