Dimension 2400 does not have an Ethernet Controller

I found this thread where someone had the same problem with a missing ethernet controller on the same pc. A Dimension desktop 2400. Quote: This self-extracting zip file is part of a multidisk zip file. Please insert the last disk of the set. If I click "OK"; then it states... Quote: An error occured while unzipping. One or more files were not successfully unzipped. The error code is 110. I was saving this direct on the hard drive, but since it would not open I also saved it onto a memory stick, but it would not open from there either. The poster in the above thread appears to have had exactly the same problem. Though there was no resolution to the problem in the thread. Any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks!
