Dimension 4550 Ethernet controller

Question

I had to reformat my drive and reinstall windows XP home edition. In the process, my computer no longer recognizes the drivers for:  Ethernet controller (which has disrupted my internet access), multimedia controller and sm bus controller.  Based on what I have read in other postings, I believe that I should now re-install the chip set drivers and the Ethernet drivers.  Are there separate drivers for the sm bus controller and multimedia controllers too?          Thank you for your time.     Wayne

More than likely, it is just the Chip Set drivers you need.  All the latest version of your drivers are located here.

The chipset drivers will take care of the SM Bus Controller and will allow you to install drivers for other devices. You will likely have to install drivers for the ethernet adapter, the audio adapter (which will take care of the multimedia adapter), and video adapter, as well as your modem.
