Dimension 8400 w/ D-Link wireless network adapter?

Hi there!

I mounted a D-Link DWL-520+ wireless network adapter (PCI) in my new Dimension 8400 with Windows XP.  It operates as it should, except when it comes to shut-down. The Dell does not do this cleanly and gives a blue-screen
message:

***Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity check / Memory Parity Error
***The System has Halted***

I then have to power down using the power-button.

The adapter have the latest driver from D-Link.

D-Link seems to recognize this problem with Compaq, but nothing about
Dell:

If anybody have this combination to work please let me know!

I'm afraid not...

D-Link recommends BIOS-upgrade or make the changes suggested for Compaq/HP, which of course are not available in the Dell...

Dell support offered no solution but to await a BIOS upgrade, I have A01 which seems to be the latest.

Regards,

Ola

this forum is terrible... there isnt any responses to anything and the mods dont give answers.  I bought a d-link usb 802.11B  it works alright.  had no problems installing and only recently had one minor problem where i had to unplug and then plug it back in to get it going.
