Dimension problem

i have a dell dimension 5150. i have a speedtouch modem 585 which i connect to the net with.  i was having problems connecting to the net from my second pc.  The pc which the modem is connected to was accesing the net fine.
 
however i was trying to fix it to access the net from my other pc and accidently deleted something. after this my ethernet controller in device manager didn't have the drivers installed- (yellow question mark).
i downloaded the drivers for this ( i think) and installed them and the ethernet controller installed ok.
however i still can't connect to the net on any of the pc's.
i phoned aol about the modem but they said the problems are with my drivers for my NIC.????
 
i hope this isn't too long and i hope it's in the right area to ask questions of this kind.
 
could someone please help a clueless Scottish person cos i haven't a clue

Post exactly how the PC's are networked (connected to each other and the Modem) and if you are using internet connection sharing, and if you are which PC is the host for sharing to the other PC's. Also if there is any wireless being used, and which PC's are using it.
 
Any other hardware? router? switch?
 
So others can help.
