Right click the wireless nework icon in the System Try and select Disable from the drop down menu. This will disable the wireless network card until you decide you need it, at which point you will need to re-enable it through Control Panel > Network Properties.

Thank you for your reply. I right-clicked on the wireless connection icon, but no such option appears. The only options I get is: "Change Windows Firewall Settings"; "Open Network Connections"; "Repair" and "View Available Wireless Network".

Any other solution? Please!

Try Start - Settings - Control Panel - Network and Dialup Settings - your wireless card listing - right click it and disable.
