DNS Problem? in DI-624 Network
Environment D-Link wireless Network Extreme G 108 Mps
Di-624 Router
Dimension 8300/DI-520 Adapter
Dimension 8100/DI-520 Adapter
Inspiron 8200/DI-615 Adapter
This network has been running well locally as well on the web until some days ago when I was listening to music on www.naxos.com. I'm a registered customer and have used this site often with no problems.
Suddenly the connection broke and it was impossible to re-enter.
Since then it has been impossible for me to connect to the site again. I always get the message: "The page can not be found" and this text in the address field: http://search.msn.se/dnserror.aspx?FORM=DNSAS&q=www.naxos.com.
The LAN still works fine and I have no such problems with any other sites as eg. www.naxos.se. All three computers have the same problem to connect to naxos.com.
If I reboot the 8100 I can connect to naxos.com but only once! The firewall and AV-programs have no rules including Naxos. Cookies from Naxos are allowed.
When I connected an IBM Netvista directly to the broadband it had no problems connecting to naxos.com. But as soon as I included it in the network the same problem occurred in the Netvista.
I have reconfigured the network with no luck and don't know what to do.
Please help!

I've had that thought but I'm just now logged in to Naxos.com on my 8100 directly connected to the broadband (not using the DI-624 network). I was met by "Hello, mr Pedersen-Dambo" as usual. So I'm not cut off.
How on earth can a DNS error affect all computers inside a network regarding only one single site that is not excluded by fire wall rules or anything in the computers' IE?
It's still a mystery to me.

I found the answer myself to this problem and think it might be of interest for others.
My ISP provides 4 DNS addresses. The DI-624 only tries the three first ones while the computer itself directly connected to the ISP tries all four before it gives up.
I found out this when my problem reappeared and www.marineband.usmc.mil suddenly refused access to their homepage. I then tried all four DNSes one after another as fixed DNSand found that the three first ones didn't work. The forth was the only one to work properly.
I then stopped using automatical DNS and put the working one and two other DNS addresses from my reserve ISP into the DI-624 as fixed DNS. Since then everything has been working fine.
When I reported this to my ISP they made an investigation and found out that 3/4 of their network had been cut off from usmc.mil due to hackers trying to break in to usmc.mil.
