Draft N Wireless for an i6000

Is it feasible to change out an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 a/b/g with the latest Intel 45965 a/g/n on my 6000? I've read of compatibility problems because of antenna differences. Maybe it would be best to use a USB adapter like this: http://www.trendnet.com/products/TEW-624UB.htm Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi,

Inspiron 6000 has internal mini pci slot where the Intel 2200 card is seated. There are no Draft N cards that come into this slot. Intel 4965 is Draft N card that is shipped with current technology systems where the internal mini pci slot is replaced by Mini PCI Express slot - also called mini slot.

You could opt for a Draft N PCMCIA card for this computer but check for compatibility before purchasing.
