Driver for Ethernet controller Dimension 4100

Question

I had to totally reinstall windows Me and all software.  Now I cant connect to the internet.  I can't find  a device driver for the ethernet card.  There are 2 devices the manager is not recognizing PCI communication device and PCI Ethernet controller.   I don't seem to be able to find an exact type for either.

The PCI communications device is your modem. As the for ethernet adapter, try the drivers for the 3 COM adapter first, and if they don't work, try the ones for the Intel adapter. All drivers can be downloaded from:

I had a Dimension 4100.

It did not come standard with an Ethernet card.

I installed one in mine.

If you didn't install one in yours, you don't have a Ethernet card.

The older D4100 didn't, the later ones did.
