I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop 600m. I have had two messages telling me to install the chipset drivers first. Im not exactly sure what these are or how I would go about installing them.
It would be quite helpful to know which model computer you have. Without that information, I can only suggest that you move the mouse cursor over the Notebooks tab at the top of the forum, select the product line, then click on Drivers and Downloads, enter your computer model, selct your operating system and language and click on Submit. Make sure that you install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other device drivers.

Once you go to the support page and input your service tag and go to the drivers and downloads page, you will see all the drivers for your system, including the chipset drivers.
I know this is a old thread and I am a new user here, but hopefully someone can answer this question.
I have lost my Drivers and Utilties CD for my Dell Desktop purchased in 2005. I need to do a reformat and reinstall. I did go to the website and put in my service tab and came up with a list of Drivers...(15) and I did " install" or downloaded them onto my computer and burned them onto a CD. However I don't know the order, I don't know if I need the ALL, I really don't know a lot about doing it this way.
I also downloaded DriverMax and backed up all my current drivers onto that...would that work? I guess my question is for this forum....is the replacement CD available and if so can someone direct me to it?

Put in your service tag number (probably on the botton of the laptop).
Download the drivers for your configuration/system. Note: You should install the chipset drivers first.
