DSL and GAMING
Hello,
I was wondering, I have flight sim 2004, My sys is, 8400 dim 1GB dual @533 mhz, ati radeon x300, its ok, not the best, I just got DSL, and when I'm playing flight sim, it seems that it is interferring w/ the game. The game becomes slowe. It never use to do that when I had dial-up. Dont get me wrong,Ilike DSL, but does leaving the DSL modem on all the time interfer w/ the flight sim game? and, Is it ok to shut off the DSL modem whening gaming?
Thanks for the help,
Drum

well to answer your original question, I don't think it would matter, but if it does, it shouldn't hurt things to turn it off (just unplug it from your computer).
just for fun, check for spyware and viruses

Thanks,
I already checked and it's ok, I discovered something last nite while gaming, I did shut off the dsl modem and the game still was sluggish, so what I discovered was that flight sim conflicts w/ the anti virus software that came w/ the dsl. When I disabled all of the virus and spyware software, the game ran fine, like it used too. I believe its this type of anti virus software that conficts w/ it. I ysed to have Macafee before dsl. It was used when I had dial up, I did not have any problems what so ever with that software,so again I truly believe its the dsl ani virus software, Thanks again for your help.
