DSL HOOKUP PROBLEM

I AM TRYING TO HOOKUP A DELL DIMENSION 4700 WITH XP PRO TO A DSL LINSKY ROUTER AND KEEP GETTING A NETWORK CABLE UNPLUGGED ERROR ( fire...intel (r) pro/100 VE network ). THERE ARE 2 COMPUTERS ON THE ROUTER INCLUDING THIS ONE. I HAVE VERIFIED THAT ALL CABLES AND THE ROUTER ARE FINE. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS? I AM NEW AT THIS COMPUTER STUFF SO PLEASE DON'T HURT ME TOO BAD IF THIS IS A SIMPLE FIX. I AM AT A LOSS. THE OTHER COMPUTER IS WORKING JUST FINE. IT IS ALSO A DELL WITH XP HOME. PLEASE HELP ME OUT IF YOU CAN. THANKS!!

Did you check the router settings to access 3 or more computers? Also you need to check your ip address and make sure the router is set to receive all three addresses.

Can the other machine get out on the internet?  If so, we can eliminate the router and look at the one machine.
