Are you trying to connect wired or wirelessly. Check to see if you can connect wired to your modem or router first. If so then attempt it wirelessly. Check device manager and see if your wireless adapters are listed as installed with a conflict. Since you recently did a reload. Did you install your Notebook System Software then your Chipset drivers before installing all other drivers.

I can connect with an external network adapter. Don't know if that info helps. Is the internal adapter the 1394 Net Adapter? If so, it says it's working properly, and I updated the driver. Again, don't know if this helps to explain my situation.

1394 is not the adapter your looking for.  You should have listed a Broadcom adapter which would be your internal network card for a wired connection. And if you have a internal wireless nic you should have a listing for that if it is a Dell or an Intel. If it is not listed it is either not present or not installed correctly.

Did you load the Notebook system software and the Chipset drivers first and in that order.

Once you pointed out that I needed to find an Intel card, I was able to find the driver in the download section. Thanks for the help, and I promise to root fot the Cowboys this year, except in the first game, when the Browns trounce them.
