Right click your wireless icon in the system tray, select "View wireless networks"? Choose your home network from the list and click "Connect"?

fixed my problem.  I just did a system restore to an earlier date.  Now I have my original IP address, and everything is fine.  I have also written it down so that i'll always know what it is but i guess i can always restore to an earlier date again if i ever lose it.

Why don't you setup your router to be a DHCP server and set all your peripherals to obtain their IP addresses automatically? That way, you don't have to write down your IP and DNS info? The computers do it for themselves...

What model Linksys router do you have? Are you running Windows XP on your Inspiron?

Model #? WRT54G? WAP54G? There should be a label on the bottom of your router that would have the info?

Check the Device Manager, under Network Adapters, if your wireless is installed then, there should be an adaptor there.
