fixed my problem. I just did a system restore to an earlier date. Now I have my original IP address, and everything is fine. I have also written it down so that i'll always know what it is but i guess i can always restore to an earlier date again if i ever lose it.
Why don't you setup your router to be a DHCP server and set all your peripherals to obtain their IP addresses automatically? That way, you don't have to write down your IP and DNS info? The computers do it for themselves...
sorry to ask but i am new to the wireless networking .i just got my E1705 whith a wireless 1390 802.11 mini card. installed .but i do not see any icon in my system tray for wireless conntion

What model Linksys router do you have? Are you running Windows XP on your Inspiron?
